Did the clean reinstall of windows ten pro. After this was done, I notice I did not have any wifi. But also I don't have any drivers. This did not happen with the dell xps desktop that I clean reinstalled last week as everything was there.

I went to the dell site and typed in my service tag number. It showed the drivers that were for MY PC. I then downloaded two of these drivers that were network drivers on my desktop pc. One is called dell wireless driver the other is dell wireless bluetooth driver. Then transferred it to a usb flash drive. This usb flash drive contains the windows ten install there.

When I did this, it ask are you sure you want to copy this file without its properties? I read this has to do with the flash drive being a different format as it most likely is FAT.

I clicked yes and then transferred the files. I plugged the usb flash drive into the dell xps laptop. I ran both of these drivers with next and okay. But after I do this, not only is there no wifi, but when I click on start menu and type in dell wireless... nothing shows up.

I remember my laptop had a nvidia geforce driver and typing that in my laptop, doesn't show anything. So I'm missing all the drivers on this laptop and need to install each one of them? I see there is a total of 31 of these for MY PC under dell site with my service tag. With two being the network drivers.

I read someone mention as long as you get internet working, you can manually download all these drivers and updates. So how do I get this to work? I have no wifi on the dell xps laptop.

After I type in my dell service tag on dell site... this is what shows as the drivers for MY PC. Some show popular and some show popular and urgent.

I had downloaded the dell wireless Dell Wireless 1820A/1830 Wi-fi Driver and Dell Wireless 1820A Bluetooth Driver on desktop computer. Then copied and pasted the files to usb flash drive. Then connected it to my dell xps laptop to install it. But I'm not sure if it even installed because I don't see any exe file that opens?

To be fair, playing poker online "for a living" these days - which the OP has declared as his occupation - is a fairly clear evidence of effective madness, as if more was needed, although we can't be certain if that's the root cause (as I would think it very well could be) or another unfortunate effect :(

    I called it.
At least 3 more threads to follow for this blight on mankind, complete computer illiterate, unknowing leader of many botnets, personna non grata.

I have to wonder how a person can be so unaware of how ridiculous it is to post over and over asking for help and then to deny said help.

At least he finally did the clean install after 2 months living with an malware infection, That's progress!!!!!.

Once he install his drivers he should be good for now until he gets infected again in about 1-2 weeks because he wont learn anything

1-2 days bro...and I'm probably being generous with that estimate.
10 minutes before he can't stand not being nether raped by online poker....that's much more likely.

I am just astonished how this guy has the time to post the same post all over the internet and actually follow up. He has made more than 100 threads so far about 1 problem which he could fixed in a couple of hours if he even listened to any of the pros here or other forums. [IMG]

I like the bit where he's now banned from tenforums :)
Like I said before, Hardforum (the old HardOCP) would have had him bleeding from places he didn't know he had.
Too bad, I've been watching hoping he'd show up there :þ

The poacher-player somehow gets there in the end, so awarding a small + for tenacity. But the insane amount of unnecessary confusion, clutter and plague along the way is simply staggering.

Anyway, hoping his newfound friends (some of them may still not be in psychiatric ward after interacting with the guy) on all the other forums will help in keeping him far, far away from here!

"Dude. You're asking 15 questions per post"

The lesson, a month of ridiculous troubles, a 1000 posts on x number of forums, dozens of forum members subjected to mental torture lol ...all would have been avoided and fixed in 5 minutes if the looney had implemented a greenie's most basic, simple backup routine.

I just got chastised by the mods on Ars for calling him a bag of cats. Whoops.

I rephrased it to like a bag of cats, for clarity. Bags full of cats aren't usually that stubborn.

Like he did here he still wont learn anything and he still wants to use bitlocker even though he doesnt travel, doesnt own a business and he's unemployed...

    Another thread
    https://www.tenforums.com/antivirus...-check-if-usb-flashdrive-contain-malware.html

You would of think he would be the last person to be infected with malware but yet it happened because of his bad habits. His problems would of been solved if he just listen.

BitLocker my ***, he saw that it did him 0 good only made it impossible to recover his data. If my source of income was poker I'd just buy a cheap laptop to play that has no data on it and leave my main laptop for my personal thing, problem solved

I doubt this guy makes any meaningful money playing poker online. Obviously smarter people have tried and failed or dropped it because it makes no sense to grind for peanuts.

I remember he told us that he has a desktop and a chromebook i think and he did a clean install on his desktop. I guess his Dell laptop is his main pc since he is using bitlocker and playing online poker on it. You aint going make a decent living playing online poker unless you're a pro and with gambling you're going to lose money more than making money especially with poker.

Like i said he wont learn anything and he going keep making the same mistakes again.

I doubt there are any independent pros earning what we would call a decent living in online poker, perhaps unless they resort to heavy cheating. All the top names play live poker, which of course comes with its own caveats and issues :)

Oh boy here we are again.

@Spartan@HIDevolution I applaud your enthusiasm. I don't like to appear punching down but in this instance I believe he shouldn't even buy any machine regardless of form factor and just stick to an actual deck of cards.

Just please don't tell him about the embedded rfid chips in the cards otherwise we will be here all night.

Why would you subject me to that. On the flip side I can finally appreciate what a frustrated laughter may feel like so I suppose I could thank you.

I'm not going to, of course. But I could lol

In all liklihood he/she will find an answer they like and ask another redundant, public display of attempting to crowd source a knowledge pool from scratch every 3-5 days.

Boy, I'm glad to see this thread. I knew he cross posted on a few sites before, but didn't realize it was so many! I think I now know why he has 50+ tabs open in Chrome...

But seriously, needs to learn how to use Google and research himself instead of asking for a 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th, ... ,n th opinion on everything.

I understand his confusion since the Dell wifi installer unpacks the files without an exe file; all he had to do was to right click on the setup file and click install.

But holy kek...he spent so much effort to spam essays all across the internet asking for others to spoonfeed him, and yet has never looked into the simple solutions himself?
