This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Chrome Update version 3.xx

    Chrome updates itself to version 3.0195.21. I found it did it itself, which was not so cool. I'd like to have known that it was updating itself or wanted to do so. Having said that, the updated version does seem fast. I like the 'new page'; I DON'T like the themes; I like what they have done to the Omni bar; and I believe the add-ons are on the anvil with Version 4.

    For those on whom Version 3 has not crept up suddenly - like it did on me - you can, I guess, get it at http://www.google.com/chrome

    Now to test run it!

    mine didn't update itself..I go to About Google Chrome, and I see A new version of Google Chrome is Available and [Update Now] next to it.

    I think I might have the google updater process disabled. starts with windows normally after installing chrome.
