does it now have a way to disable "most visited pages" that opens with every new tab?

because that's the main reason (and lack of good adblock) that i havent migrated yet

btw, if someone knows of an adblock extension for chrome that gets rid of youtube ads, please tell me

You can somewhat hide it, so it looks like the image below...just hit the x on the visted line(on the right side of the page)...also, you might want to look into incognito mode if you don't wont certain sites showing up on that list.

As for ads, you mean the one that plays before the video or or on ones on the side/top? 'Adblock'(one on chromes extension page) should block the ones on the youtube page...idk how well it blocks the ones in the videos.

It (AdBlock) blocks all the ads in videos, works like the Firefox one.

Does it have multi-row tabs by any chance, like Firefox?

I'd like to make the switch.

You can change what new tabs open with this extension:
    https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/icpgjfneehieebagbmdbhnlpiopdcmna

Though I don't... I really enjoy being able to have my most used pages (you can change which ones show up to avoid... embarrassing ones if that's your problem lol)

As for adblock there was a recent update that now allows it to run before pages load, which means that it actually stops the ads from loading instead of just hiding them the way it used to.

Multiple tab rows? Probably going to need an extension, shouldn't be hard to find.

anyone know how to import the most visited sites from firefox to chrome? Thats mainly the reason I'm not moving over yet because those most visited sites aren't there.

When you first install chrome it should ask you what browser you want to import info from. If you have firefox installed you can choose it.

I tried searching, but only found requests from other users. Thats the only reason I'm still on firefox. I have about 70 tabs open at a time, thats about 6 rows.

wow, thanks for the advice Kdawgca and Hungry Man

in fact, after seeing it, i actually like what Kdawgca mentioned more--how the most visited/recently closed are at the bottom (the reason i don't want them constantly displaying is because if other people were to look/use my computer, i don't want youtube/notebookreview, etc to show up, i like my privacy)

and thanks for telling me that adblock works, i'm going to give chrome another try right now

one more thing, does anyone know why the font in chrome just looks more blurry than in ff? especially when i zoom out, it gets VERY blurry (i believe that chrome seems to follow windows' dpi scaling, whereas ie and ff seem to use 96dpi regardless)

I quite like this latest stable version of Chrome. It is very fast as compared to IE9 (beta).

yeah but it only imports bookmarks and stuff. You know how in firefox if you type "e" into the address bar, the most visited site comes up that starts with e? I can't do that in chrome so I guess something messed up with the importing. Its a hassle because im used to going to those sites regularly for months and if i cant do that in chrome..lol :(

If they're your most visited sites it sounds like it wouldn't be a problem fo rlong. Even if you couldn't import them Chrome would quickly learn what they are.

Windows NT supports multiple user profiles since at least 1996.

^ but if i am logged onto my account i dont want to have to switch users, especially when i want to show them stuff on my account

not to mention the awkward moment if they see you switching accounts when they ask to use your computer

    Ok.

So what? I wouldn't mind. The other users should accept your privacy as well as you accept theirs.

I tried this already. Just like IE9, it's still a beta. However, I believe IE9 now surpasses Chrome beta since IE9 makes use of the computer's graphics card which improve the loading time of pictures, videos, HD activities of some websites which other web browsers currently don't support.

IE9 is good but Chrome seems to be faster though. I really wish IE9 could speed up things!
