The account picture on the login screen of my W510 used to be relatively small, a couple of months ago the size doubled (or so) and the picture and box looks somewhat distorted.

Is there anyway to change this back to the default setting so it doesn't look distorted?

Couldn't it be just wrong / lower screen resolution?

It could be the wrong screen resolution but I have never changed the default setting of 1920x1080. Is there a reason that particular screen would show up as a different resolution?

Try running SFC /SCANNOW from an elevated commandline.

Did you mess with the Screen Expansion setting in the BIOS?

I think I know what you're referring to--the login picture box went from being this big to this big? If so, did you enable/disable any other user accounts or guest accounts?

Moving this to Windows OS/Software. You'll probably get more help there.

If Midnightsun's answer did not solve this, could it be that you added a password to your login ? This will make the image you refer to larger. Also have U tried different accoint pictures? Hope this helps, Josea

I had the same problem as you. No matter what icon I used, the log in screen icon looked a bit distorted. I removed the password then set up the same password again. No more distortion...no idea why.

The only account on the computer is mine. The guest account setting is turned off

I added a password, if I remove it it completely bypasses the login screen.

I tried changing the password and then removed the password and then re-instituted it and it still didn't work.

I wouldn't normally care, but the picture looks all distorted.

JarodL, One other thing U can try is setting up another login id
    Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts\Manage Accounts

If no passwords are set for either account you should still see a screen that allows you to choose accounts. It could be something is corrupted in your original profile (login account) so creating the new account will help narrow this issue down. I use 2 myself, standard user for everyday and administrator for tasks that require more 'rights'.

I just realized I didn't actually fix this problem entirely. The only time the log in account picture is blurry is when I first boot up the computer. It looks fine when entering in my password after awaking from sleep though.
