    Hi,

My cat likes to get on my laptop keyboard whenever I'm away from my laptop. Since she does this, whenever I leave the laptop I lock the laptop so I have to log back in when I want to use it again.

When I tried to log into the laptop and type my password, I get user name or password is invalid and have the option to reset the password. I don't think the cat was able to login and change my password, so why wouldn't my current password work?

Also, when the laptop boots, it always goes to the login I created for myself. I don't see any options to change it to login as the administrator. Is there a way to change the user to the admin account?

Is my only option to reinstall Vista?

    Thanks

Capslock? If there is only one account on the computer, then vista will log into that one automatically, and it is an admin account as well.

Doesn't your cat scratch your screen? I would flip if a cat got near my precious screen.... :p

Don't tell him that! Seriously - his cat could not have typed in his password, opened User Accounts, and changed it. If it's not CAPS lock, and if he can't get it after a restart, he's forgot it, or he's lying, and just wants advice on cracking into someone's computer!
