As a last resort, download drive diagnostics off the mfg's website and run a test as well as zero'ing out the drive.

    Good luck.

It is possible that the virus attacked the Master Boot Record. Try reinstalling XP with a full NTFS format...if you've already done that, try fixing the MBR through the MSDOS command line.

i would take a few more shots at it:
. get gParted live cd and see if u can get into it
. remove the hard drive, use another system or an external drive and see if u can make it alive
    . would another drive work?

    cheers ...

Most likely your Partitions are deleted or corupted.
Download and use G-parted to see if partitions exist, or create new partitions with G-parted.

Another option you can do since the fixmbr didn't work is to install a Bootloader. I recommend you download and copy GAG bootloader on to a CD/DVD. Then pick the proper partitions to boot and see if it works.
Here is the link to GAG ..... http://gag.sourceforge.net/

If none of the above works, then I would guess you have some bad clusters which might make it impossible to fix the mbr. Hopefully this is not the case, as you would need to replace harddrive.

Download G-Parted .ISO file. CLICK HERE AND DOWNLOAD FIRST FILE .
Copy .ISO file to DVD or CD.

Download GAG .ZIP file. CLICK HERE Unzip the file and look for the "cdrom.iso" file.
Copy "cdrom.iso" file to DVD or CD.

Follow directions from my last post.

GAG is VERY EASY to use. But if you are worried about using G-parted feel free to ask, but use it to at least see what your partitions are or if you have any.

Did GAG work at all? Did you try to set any menu to a partition? If you didn't, set a menu to C and D. Both partitions.

    Thats werid.

Did you copy the .ISO file to a DVD or CD as a bootable disc?

Did you set your BIOS to boot from DVD/CD-ROM first?

I don't know what else to tell you.

I seriouly think you overlooked something or didn't understand something.

What does your BIOS read? What is it booting first?

    Did you try Gparted yet?

If Gparted or GAG doesn't work and you did everything the right way. Then it is most likely a problem with your Hard Drive, like maybe a bad sector or something.

Maybe somebody with more knowledge can help you out.

Try typing .... A:\>fdisk/status or C: format << but don't click yes yet.

Ok, that just means the DISK IT SELF was not copied as bootable.

Try typing ...install or install_XP or cdrom.iso after the A:\ prompt.
    Also try run or setup.

Select delete. And delete all partitions you can.

    REBOOT.

bring it back to C: as done in before.

    Type fdisk

at the menu select 1. create

    create a FAT32 partition.

Oh and I have no idea how we got to the fdisk menu earlier when you was supposed to be using the GAG disc. But forget about it now.

Ok, Now I would actually have to be there to direct any further.

My last and final suggestion would be to go back to C: and type in
FORMAT C: Select Yes at warning. After it's Done, then try to load Windows XP.

If that doesn't work then my best advice would be to Google these commands ...........

    Fdisk, Fdisk/status, c:/format, Format, fixmbr

Hopefully you will find a solution to help. GOOD LUCK.

Let me know if it works.
