I've had a fresh xp installation on my T61 thinkpad. Now I don't get any sound at all... In "Sounds and audio devices" in the control panel, it says it doesnt recognize any audio devices...
The thing is I downloaded the driver (7ka114ww.exe) from the lenovo site and I assume It's been installed correctly previously already since it asks me to overwrite current files...
I'm not sure how to uninstall the driver under device manager only because I can't seem to find that option. It lists that I have Legacy audio driver installed ...

When you say it doesn't recognize any devices are there any devices showing up as unknown on your system?

Download CPU-Z. Run it, then go to the 'Mainboard' tab.

according to pcwizard ... Intel GM965 is my chipset...
    After downloading
--Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility -- installed it
--Intel® Matrix Storage Manager -- installed it
--Graphics Driver -- error, said I didn't meet the minimum requirements...

Anyway... that only took care of the SM Bus Controller... Is that right?
