I have downloaded the RC (7100)from microsoft dlm, but when I mount the iso file and click the install option, it loads some temporary files and the i get an error meesage that says that "Windows could not retrieve information about the disks on the computer" and then it has only one button to click that closes the setup. I've also burnt the disc to try a clean install but it doesn't loads anything ( yes, the boot order is correct, the dvd is first). I downloaded the iso like 3 times and all give me the same error. What can I do to install it?

Mounting the ISO within Windows shouldn't work (as you've noticed). Unless it was within a virtual machine, I suppose.

When you burned the DVD, did you burn it utilizing your software's "make disc from image" feature? Explore the contents of the DVD in Windows to be sure the ISO was unpacked and burned as several files on the disc. If you instead only see one file, the ISO file, reburn the DVD using the 'burn image' feature of your software.

What happens when you attempt booting from the DVD? Does the computer show any indication it attempted to boot from the disc, or does it boot from the HDD as normal?

The disc shows the files and folders inside, it is recognized as an installation disc. I used it in another machine and it starts correctly but it stays at 0% when decompressing files. When I try to boot it from my laptop it does not boots from it ( I tried with the vista dvd and it boots correctly). I know it should work, I had it but I had to format the partition and when I installed it I mounted it with PowerIso and installed from Vista.

It should be in the UDF file system format, and from my experience with trying to install from XP, I had to disable CD burning for some reason, or else it'd open a window and see it as a DVD rom in a CD drive. It was also give or take with it, but I finally got it to recognize it.

You didn't by any chance burn the .iso file itself onto the disc did you? Because you're meant to burn the contents within the iso image, not the literal .iso file.

I think he knows what he's doing, if he already tried it on another machine and got part-way there.

If the disc didn't work on any of your other computers, then I'd say either the ISO or the media is at fault. I would use a different computer to download the ISO again, then use a different brand of DVD.
