Just wondering, would it be possible to install windows 7 onto my laptop hard drive through a virtual mounted iso on something like Daemon tools?
Would a clean install be possible?
Or if anything can i install it from an external hard drive/sd card with the iso file on it?

And incase you're wondering why im using an iso file, me and 2 other friends bought a retail copy and have 3 keys to activate, i just dont have the cd so i downloaded an iso.

Virtual drive is not possible unless you are installing it in a virtual machine and not on a computer directly.

Installing from an external hard drive is possible but you need to create a bootable partition and expand the iso. Just copying the iso to the drive is not enough.

Google installing windows 7 from a usb drive. Hard drive and usb is pretty much the same thing. SD card is also possible but only if your bios supports booting from an SD card. Your bios also needs to support booting from a USB device but most newer computers and laptops do.

Alternative: Burn the iso to a dvd and use that???

If you have XP/Vista preinstalled, you can extract the ISO using WinRAR and click setup.exe. If not, you can't, you need either a DVD, SD Card, or Flash Drive.
