    Can I use my activation key for downloaded Win 7 64-bit?

    Hi,

    My Windows 7 installation dvd is not working and so I gave a torrent of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit for download.

    Will the activation key on the sticker of my laptop work for the downloaded copy of Windows 7? My laptop came with 64-bit Home Premium.

    yes, Windows 7 installs only require a license number from the same operating system,,Home Premium,Pro,,ect...32 or 64 bit all good to go.

    I don't think you're allowed to be mentioning you downloading Windows 7 from a torrent site on these forums, but I could be wrong. However, you would need an OEM windows 7 to correspond with your OEM key.

    kheltik, I know man sorry about that, I didn't intend to, but here I am actually downloading for getting a copy of Windows 7 64-bit, and then use it with the genuine key I have. My original disc is corrupted :(

    You can use your existing OEM key - just make sure you have downloaded the same edition and language (no matter whether it's OEM or Retail). You will likely be directed to the phone activation though.
