I recently bought an IBM X41 tablet, however, it came with a XP pro and the recovery partition was deleted. So I am wondering if there's any way I can install some sort of add-ons to convert it into Tablet 2005? Basically the tablet pc input panel is what I concern the most, and would be nice if I can have the notes taking apps too. Any comments would be appreciated. :)

I am not sure, but there is a provision somewhere that says that you cannot LEGALLY use an XP Pro licence/disk to get the Tablet functionalities.

Short of getting the correct Tablet version for Windows (or trade in a Vista Business/Ultimate licence for the XP Tablet Edition), it is a moot point trying to add some sort of 3rd party apps (if any available) onto XP to make it "tablet".

    cheers ...

But my x41 does has the tablet pc license key stick on the back. It just that the seller installed XP pro on it.

Cool, you just need to find a Tablet installation disk and you are all set.

    cheers ...

May be some sites on the net that would sell recovery disks? Or (re)ordering it direct from Lenovo at a small cost?

    cheers ...
