Your graphics card does not support Aero, so you will not be able to run Vista in full (unless you get Vista Home Basic, which is basically XP, so there isn't much point).
But, everything else should run just fine, as you have a pretty fast CPU and 1GB or more RAM.

There is no need of Vista. Why do you think you need Vista? XP will perform much better on your computer. If you need that fancy graphics from Vista use windowblinds or other similar software on XP. As said previous, your graphics chip will not be able to run Aero on Vista.

Aero is the default graphical theme of Vista, by the way.

You might want to talk to Chaz. He had a Pentium M machine on Vista for a while, and he said it was too slow for his tastes.

My laptop (sig) runs Vista fine, and the only edge I have on yours is the graphics card (and a slightly faster processor). You won't be able to run Aero, but Vista should run fine. I'd get Home Premium...no you can't run Aero, but at least you get Media Center and some other media-centric features. Look here:

Did you run the Vista advisor software? I'll tell you if your computer can handle the requirements.
