I recently picked up my first smart phone, a Samsung Galaxy S2, and don't really know how I got by without if for so long, it is really quite amazing, anyhow, I was looking for video converters and found one on CNET, made by Nvidia, that takes advantage of CUDA and can convert video a bit quicker than other programs. The free-ware version of the program will do 800x480 H.264 for free! But you may have to purchase the full version depending on what output file you are going with.

Check it out, I have converted a few files so far and I must say it is pretty powerful if you have CUDA.

CUDA Soft - Free CUDA Video Converter, Free CUDA DVD Ripper, CUDA Video Converter, Free CUDA DVD Ripper

(It also takes a lot of CPU power, converting 5 or so files consumes about 25% of CPU resources, and this is where I really see the advantage of running higher multipliers as on default (38,37,36,36) the CPU usage goes up to about 45%!

45% of CPU usage? Did you ever try Xilisoft video converter? Ifthere is any free or demo version of it I would like to look at the comparison of those 2.

That's what I use. I can convert a 2gb file that would normaly take about an hour in about 20 min.

Xilisoft is good about their trial have full functions until the time period runs out.

    I use Freemake Video Converter. It takes 7 minutes to convert a 1.7 GB file from 1920 x 1080 to 1280 x 720

Thanks for all the suggestions, I like the CUDA Video Converter as it utilizes the GPU's in conjunction with the CPU for converting files (see link above) and for the conversion I am doing, 1920x1080 to 800x480 Windows 7 Portable H.264, ITS COMPLETELY FREE.

If anyone gets this converter be sure to check under "view" and "advanced settings" and select high audio and video.

Great quality for those with Androids. Great processing ability for those with Nvidia hardware.
