After periods of testing and modifying BumpTop has finally entered the limelight.

BumpTop is a way to reinvent the desktop. It's like a real life workspace on your desk. Unlike how all desktops have the standard layer, BumpTop is much more intuitive and packs a little fun into it. Create a desktop that suits your need and style. :)

Link to official site and video demonstration.

I watched the demo for this.

It looks pretty sweet, especially those with multi-touch enabled touchscreens.

I've read up on BumpTop a while back and saw what they had in store a few months ago. Now it's just freakin' amazing.

Side question: Does anyone know if there is some sort of attachment I can put on my monitor that provides multi-touch capabilities to a non-touch screen? That would be awesome to find.

I remember seeing this in BETA. Was always curious though, how much resources does BumpTop use? Has to be a lot...

I'm not sure what it means for productivity (going down? Up?), but it looks like a fun thing.

@dbam: I don't think there is a multi-touch kit to integrate to a monitor, but there are the regular capacitive touch kits.

@McGrady: It take's 2% of the CPU and about 14MB of Processes, doesn't slow down my computer at all. Even my Celeron processor w/1GB of RAM can handle it easily.

@Persnickety: It actually makes productivity way better and adds fun to the package. Try it out, then you decide. :)

I must give the freebie version a thumbdown; one is better with some themings.

    cheers ...

Tried it on a couple of computers. The graphics looked horrible, and it didn't do anything that really thrilled me.
