Lately, when I power on my laptop, vista would go blue screen on me. It would then restart and ask me if i want to go safe mode, last working configuration, or boot normally.

Whats strange is that when I select boot normally, my laptop would load vista without any problem. I could even go sleep mode or hibernate without a problem. It only bsod when I turn it on after I used shutdown and booting after that.

Any suggestion on where I should look into?

It's possible that a driver is trying to load before the hardware is ready, which is why it works when you delay the startup going through the menu, but not on a "normal" startup.

There should be a filename as well as the code on the BSOD screen... FOOBAZ.SYS or something similar. Write that down as well as the code next time it happens, and then break out Google ;)
