I'm on a friends desktop. Dell Dimension 3000, Conexant D850 56k modem (latest driver according to Windows), XP Home, 256 MB mem which I plan on upgrading to 768 next week.

I need to open the browser first (IE or FF) and then dial-up. Of course, it cannot load page, dial-up, get a connection, then need to refresh to get to the home page.
