I just opened my new acer 7745-7949

Installed the bluray sample disc to enjoy the awesome new 17" screen

Denied windows 7 media won't play it I get a message that says window media player will not play. It will however play cd's and dvd's

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

You need PowerDVD or some other specific Blu-Ray software. WMP won't play it because they don't have the licenses for the codecs.

    Aren't DRM and patents fun?

Use Acer Arcade Deluxe to watch movies on Blu-Ray.

    lbohn,

Thanks for the advice. I couldn't get acer arcade deluxe to work. I then just went back and did a factory recovery since it was new and I had nothing to lose. Then everything worked fine.

Thanks everyone who responded to my thread.
