What's the best software to play blu ray discs on Windows 7? Doesn't matter if it's free or paid--I just want software. Any suggestions?

My bad, just saw you have HP. I am using a free version of PowerdVD from ASUS's site that works great. Do you need the capability to play from the hard drive or will you only be playing disks?

I would go with WinDVD Pro, all you want is the base software right, something good and reliable that will play all formats? I'm not to fond of the high end stuff because it's just a waste of dollars down the drain, for features you'll probably barely use, if at all. I ended up installing a bluray drive to my laptop instead of the older DVDRW one that I had and I ended up purchasing the Corel WinDVD Pro, it's pretty good for me. I don't download movies these days anymore with the whole scare on getting caught, so I have to stick with the blu-ray dvds.

Here's a direct-link to the WinDVD Pro website. If you have a 3D screen, then I would recommend getting the CinePlayer BD, but it's an extra $10 for 3D though.

Yeah, I just want base software. I tend to get irritated by software that has too many features that I don't use. I like CinePlayer's UI.
