Bittorrent is been downloading on less than 1kbps for last few days. HELP

dont know what activated this weird issue but out of sudden one day i notice that my download speed has gone down to 1kbps and sticking arnoud the same speed. been a while, i tried some fix given on net but couldnt get it working.
i have been using avast free antivirus for ages and dont think this could trigger the frustation.

any soul try to help me put here?

P.S. i am not downloading illegal stuff guys

 

your service provider might think you are so has capped or slowed down your connection. do a speed check.

 

I'd doubt tht MrDJ. although i still be doing the speed check and shall let you know. But i seriously doubt that.
could it be some update on my anti virus or some messed up setting in my torrent client?
i uninstalled and installed and reinstalled and chose a new client over bit torrent as well but nothing worked.

 

How many seed the specific torrent have? and legal BT stuff tend to be not popular .

 

Try Open Office, if it's still slow, you have problems which could be a number of things. Is Bitorrent the same as Utorrent with a green check mark bottom right?

I have problems with a batched anime download, it peaks at 18kB/s, but when I download a single episode, it can eat 25-45kB/s usually

Have anyone resolved this problem?

 

It could be a number of things:
- Not enough seeders
- Throttling
- Issue with your ISP, modem and/or router

If you want to use Utorrent, I can toss you my settings that tend to give most downloads a significant speed boost.

For the record, I download TV shows that air on my already paid Satellite network that I have missed or want to re-watch a classic from the 80-90's and good streams aren't available.

 

seeds, a lot. u wud get those files with MAXIMUM no of seeds evenb thousands. now dont let us get onto the ligality of those torrents

i'd be very much thankful for you to help me out with your settings. and sinces the issue is not with the seeds, i am confused what may have triggered this. apart from the torrents, my normal download i.e. youy tube vids, files etc. downloads at normal speed.

@Hiker, yeah thats the utorrent you r talking about. i got tht as well, when my bit torrent started throwing tantrum. but same story. only colour of the UI changes, from purple to lime green and i'll try my hand on openoffice stuff today and shall update you guys.
its like nothing on internet if torrent aint working

And there you are. After entering the new settings reboot Utorrent and you should notice a speed increase within 10 minutes. Works with most people. The info is from a "utorrent speed" video on YT I watched last year. I tried several different settings videos (about 6-7 top view counts) and this one worked out the best.

General Message:
If your intention is games/software, remember to support developers if you enjoy their products I'm a firm believer of trying a game before you buy it (unless you know you'll already like it - sequels for example) as long as your intentions are honest and you remove the product from your hard drive after trying it for a day or two before committing 60$ since most games do not offer demo's. If you like it, buy it.

 

Thanks Voodooi for all that lead. but didnt work much. it sped up for a while but came back at the same haunting download speed. although my speednet test shows same result which were there always. dont know where to begin|look for. google is not of much help either :|

Did you try various torrents (one active at any given time) as a test or did you continue downloading the same exact one?

What speeds is your ISP advertising that you're supposed to be receiving?

 

well, in india. got a 1mbps connection. my dl speed sud be arnd atleast 100kbps, and it was used to tht. only fr last few days its been arnd 1-2kbps. switched between bit torrent ,utorrent.
WELL. just installed vuze and its back to life man 98kbps and rocking. i dont know what cud have triggered the bit torrent n utorrent to get down tht slow speed but vuze is rocking as if now

Edit: Actually hmmm.. .91mbps down whould be about 100KBs download max, so you should able to get like at least 20-30 after sometime on the queue if seed is plenty.
