Has had anyone has any success with optimizing BitTorrent speeds for Vista ?

I'm not sure which approach to take in order to optimize my BitTorrent on my Vista. I've downloaded BitTorrent Accelerator patch to increase speed but not seen any significant difference in speeds.

I've come across this tutorial on the subject matter but yet to try it out...

bittorent is 100% P2P and the peers you are downloading from at taken in fonctiuon of your internet connection so a bittorent accelerator is pretty hard to get =/

optimizing torrent speeds for Vista is done the exact same way you optimize torrent speeds for XP or Macs or Linux

Don't know if vistapatch will help, it's the half-open TCP/IP patch, I believe.

i would not recommend playing with the vista patch, but i would suggest that u look into/try Opera 9.24 (dont even think about the latest beta 9.5 - a vista disaster).

It seemed that Opera has a niche in this BitTorrent dingy and surfing, i never used it, but some of my copain/es do (and my preferred browser is FF :))

    cheers ...

what speeds are you getting and why do you think you need to "optimize"?
If you're using a router, did you forward ports?

Also, if your router allows it, change your settings so that it always has the maximum number of ports open, and time-outs are 600-1000 seconds.

Too low of a time-out will log you off of Yahoo/AIM/MSN every few minutes, but too high will kill your net connection.

If you have a router with DD-WRT, all of that is changed on the Administration page.

You might try utorrent and bitspirit though.

utorrent has the most compatibility with private-networks and bitspirit and a speed booster included or something I think
