Basically, I have the same documents folder on my netbook and my main laptop, and I want to keep the two synchronized. Instead of copying one folder to the jumpdrive, copying new items to the second folder, then copying that folder back to the jumpdrive, and finally copying back to the original folder, I would like some sort of utility that I can just setup to sync the folder on my computer with that on my jump drive at the press of a button. Any suggestions?

Allway sync? Just set it up on the netbook and laptop. Remember to set it so it syncs both ways.

Windows Live Sync. It can sync through internet, lan, wifi, flashdrive, or pretty much any way you like.

While a good program, the free version of the program only allows 20,000 file copies/changes to be done within any 30 day period. If you go over, the program locks up and prevents you from doing anything else. While that sounds like a lot, 20,000 operations happens quickly.

    I recommend SyncToy2.0 as well.

Hmm, didn't know about that. I tend to deal with hundreds of files synced every time. I was only doing it once every couple of weeks last year but I need to do it often now. Thanks for the notice and suggestion! +rep

SyncToy 2.0 for Windows is available as a free download from the Microsoft Download Center. The easy to use, customizable application helps you copy, move, rename, and delete files between folders and computers.
