I am not sure where my question should be asked. Sorry if i did it in the wrong place.
I am currently using a HP Compaq laptop and i say that in Thinkpad, there is a small graphical representation of the battery level in percentage in the taskbar.
How do i get that on my laptop.

The program your refering to is called Battery MaxiMizer, its actually an IBM application designed for their laptops, it won't run on your HP.

There is probably freeware applications that can do this though. Check out sites like download.com and softpedia.com to see what you can find.

I know a great program to control Intel Speedstep, to see your battery life and to downclock/overclock GPU and CPU.

It is Notebook Hardware Control. Uses 8-20 MB of memory and 5% of CPU but it is a very friendly program.

I made a screenshot for you, take a look! As you can see there is a bar at the right-down corner that shows the % of the battery. I am also monitoring CPU speed/load/temp and HD temp.

    Charlie :)
