Is there any program that will allow me to effortlessly and painlessly move ALL my games, data, and programs to my new PC after i build it? (so its gona have a fresh install of vista, cause its diffrent hardware... so doing a ghost wont work)
I also dont want to be manually doing alot...
    Thanks

Well, game save files and data...moving them through a LAN or using Ghost or Acronis True Image is good.

However, as soon as you install a new OS with new drivers on a new PC...there is no good way to transfer programs. You need to reinstall.

You can also use vista easy transfer. If old computer had xp you can use the tool. Plus, its built into vista (and a download for xp I believe)

In many cases it's just a matter of copying the registry entries of games and then moving them via external HDD.

I have 12 games, all on an external USB HDD (WD My Book 500gb) and all I do when I transfer to a new computer/os is copy the relevant registry entries from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE

Works most most of the time, had to reinstall a couple but that's no biggie and then all I do is copy the relevant game info from my profile in the users folder, from Vista in this case, to the new one in the OS.

Simple, quick and 90% effective in my experience.

Most games don't need a registry entry even if they have one. I just straight copied the directories for WoW, Eve, Crysis, World in Conflict and a couple of others and they work perfectly.
