Earlier tonight I was buying some domain names. In order to do this I had to log into my online banking and transfer funds. When I got to GoDaddy, I spent about 15 minutes trying to get the coupon codes to work, but finally gave up.

Long story short, the INSTANT I entered the last digit of my credit card number I got a BSOD about "dumping cache file" or "creating cache dump" or something. I quickly shut down my computer due to the circumstances, but I'd still like some opinions.

When I logged back on I was prompted to "Start Windows Normally," so I know it was an actual crash. Furthermore, it gave me that "Windows had to shut down unexpectedly..." window, which read:
    Additional (miscellaneous) details:
    • I was running Blender at the time of the crash
    • I had Aero disabled (for Blender to work correctly)
    • I had multiple IE7 windows open
    • MS Word, Maybe Photoshop, were running
    • Crash was unexpected (no signs of freezing, etc.)
    • I have up-to-date virus software (Syamntec)
    • I manually looked through HiJackThis on startup and found nothing unusual
    • I last ran a virus scan about 48 hours ago
    • The last two files to "help describe the problem" (above) do not exist and have not recently been deleted
Any thoughts? Just a regular error with coincidental timing?

    Thanks,
    Peter

I'll join the crowd and say it's a coincidence too.

It is very evident that there was a conflict between your 'thingamajig' and your 'watchamacallit'...coincidence.

BSODs are mostly memory related or hardware failure, not limit to your RAM. If you don't see this often.. it could be you laptop is running too hot and some hardware stopped respond.

If you are suspecting its the RAM, run memtest86 for a complete cycle

Thanks guys, I just found it odd that it would happen the second I entered a credit card number online.

    Anyway, thanks for the input.

i accidentally downloaded a porno movie, about 23 minutes long. I watched this movie, and right when the movie finished, instantly, i got a BSOD. Like your credit card punching, i researched it, and it has to have been a coincidence.

Can you also add more Additional (miscellaneous) details?
