Just just have to open up task manager. It tell you right away. Or you could go to the performance tab for more details.

I'm sorry, I'm not very computer savvy, when I open the task manager, where is the available RAM located? Under the performance tab? Is it by any chance under physical memory on the performance tab and named as "Free"?

It's named as "Total". That shows exactly how much Ram your computer can see/use.

if you like to continuously monitor your ram you can use a windows gadget through windows sidebar... however using gadgets increases your ram usage so you might be doing the opposite of what you want to do...
