I know that with Tab Mix Plus there is a way to auto refresh but is there a way in that or ANY extension to allow the tabs to refresh while you're not focused on them? For example if I'm on this forum I like it to be up to date, if I click away to another tab I would like to have it start refreshing itself at a selected interval, when I click back I want it to stop refreshing so that I can read what's on the page without being interrupted. Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks!

Yes. It's an extension called: ReloadEvery.

Works awesome. And yes, it works on background tabs.

Well, you would have to tell it to stop auto refreshing for it to do so. It's a quick change from a drop-down that appears on your refresh button. I missed that requirement in my first read-through. Sorry...
