My girlfriend's laptop (Asus F6v running Windows Vista Business SP2) is having some trouble connecting to my network and I am stumped. It is sporadically disconnected from the network and when I try to reconnect it, I have to enter the credentials every time. And when I check in "Manage Network Connections" the list is empty, even though I leave the checkboxes checked when prompted to save the network and automatically connect when it's in range. Obviously, there is some problem with the Vista Wireless Manager. And as far as I can tell, she doesn't have anything else trying to manage her wireless connections.

On my own laptops (Lenovo U330 running Windows 7 RC & Asus V1S running Windows Vista Business SP2) I never have any problems. So I can only conclude that it is something in her computer that is causing the problems.

I can deal with the sporadic disconnects, but the fact that no networks can be saved is rather a pain. She connects to atleast 3 different networks, and none of them are saved. And the only thing that she has installed recently is the Amazon MP3 downloader. I don't think that had anything to do with it, but just in case, I uninstalled it anyway and the problem still persists. It used to connect to everything just fine, but now, it has to constantly be reconnected and the credentials have to be entered each time.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Are the networks configured as public or private networks in her system?

I'm pretty sure all of them are Public. Does that some how effect the Auto-Connect or Saving of Network settings works (or doesn't in this case)?
