I've tried several of the video converters listed in the Free Software stickie and while they did manage to convert the .3G2 files to .wmv or .mpg files, they didn't do a particularly good job of it (lost audio, messed up timing, etc).

Anyone got any suggestions for a good .3G2 converter?

FYI, .3G2 files are the format used by many mobile phones for saving the video from their built-in cameras. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of .3G2 players (that I can find) other than Quicktime (which I abhor), and since I'd like to send a few of the videos I capture around to family (none of whom would know a file format difference if it bit em in the behind), I'd like to be able to pass them around in a well-supported format (well-supported for a Windows environment, that is :D).

Thanks. Unfortunately (and I don't mean to snub you for trying to help me), that was one of the ones I tried, and I wasn't really happy with the results.

Agreed. I just d/led and installed it on _Vista 64-bit, and it does a pretty decent job of converting .3G2 to .mpg - particularly for a free app; it's conversion was almost as good as the conversion I got from the trial version of AVS4YOU Video Converter 6 (the trial version converts fully, but it embeds an annoying visual watermark right in the middle of the image - you have to pay for a license to get rid of the watermark). Thanks S.Prime!
