    Annoying sound windows 7

    this is probably a stupid question , but periodically i get this what sounds like a woman singing a "bit of opera sound" ahhh ahhhhhhh ahh ughhh ahhhhhhhhhh!!! from this alien ware i got and cannot seem to locate the sound in windows to turn it off as its very annoying :mad2:

    noise seems to happen when i log on mabye a program starting or something?? :realmad:

    LoL. That's the best one I've heard here yet!

    You can go to Control Panel , Sound , Sounds Tab. Play Windows Startup Sound (it's separate from the others, Uncheck it)

    Read you sentence wrong. Thought you said startup. Just try a different scheme if necessary.

    Can't recall that sound at the moment. However, to exclude that it's any system sound you could go into control panel, type sound in the top right search box and select change system sounds. I have windows standard selected, perhaps you have a different plan selected which includes female opera singers :hi2:

    Either way you could go through the sounds one by one to - like mentioned - exclude that it's a system sound rather than something else installed


    Edit: never heard that Win7 startup sound - perhaps except as a first run sound

    yeah its retarded i have startup sounds unchecked and gone thru all of the windows sound and haven't been able to find it so i can delete it off this box permanently :realmad:

    haha but thanks a lot guys gotta keep lookin

    Any specific software which loads up when you login? could be third party app causing it?

    in windows explorer click computer then just type *.wav in the search box to search all the drives. it will find all of them.
