I heard Windows 7's version of Aero (Glass) has some new features that require DX10. So what are these new features?

Windows 7 features DirectX 11, which makes use of most currently existing DX10 hardware. Basically, DX11 not only offloads desktop rendering onto the GPU like DX10, it also uses the graphics card for general purpose tasks (ie, a GPGPU). Read up on DX11 for further information about W7's graphics libraries.
