why do you need to raise your score ?

i dont think you can do anything to increse them apart from upgrading components.

    1. Navigate to C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore.
    2. Open up the most recent file in that folder. Make sure that your account has write access to that file. If not change the file permissions.
    3. Parse the file looking for the WinSPR entry. These are the items you want to edit. The maximum value you can use is 9.9.
    4. Save the file.

If you are using laptop, you cannot increase that score. I have mentioned, that it is always RAM, which scores the least and that seems to be because of it's bus 667MHz limit. But TBH this score system in Vista is made for idiots, and wouldn't rely on it at all.

what does that do? i dont see how editing muber sin a file makes your pc better ? ,does that mean you can edit the windows score numbers and just give 9.9 for each one and give yourself a plastic score ? ..if so whats the sense in that

There's no sense in basing anything on the WEI score given it's complete and utter uselessness. Might as well make it whatever you want it to be.

i think the op was asking about things he could do to increase his score !

hahhaha thinking about it im of round my mates in a bit with my machine for some gaming and to show hima few new things, he hasa quad core desktop and a 8800 768mb card, i think i get a 4.7 and he had a 4.9 , i might give mine an overall 6.1 rating for a laugh and say have a look at this my machine kicks arse, got some super new super mental dell bios and drivers and updates and stuff

hahahahahaha and see the look on his face ! :D , then il just refer to hiom as 4.9 all night !!! haha
