    Hi to all,

I downloaded the Flash CS4 Trial from adobe and Installed on my Vista Home Premium system. The installation went fine with no errors, but when I want to use the application some weird things happen:

    1. Creating a blank flash file and using the text tool, the properties panel changes to text options, with some options hidden and only visible when you hover it with the cursor.
    2. After using the text tool, the properties panel shows the text options permanently. Normally, when I select a movie clip or an object, the panel change the options for that element, but in my case, the panel is stuck in text.
    3. I can get the interface working after swapping several times the workspaces included in CS4 (animator, developer, etc...) until I get the one that works 100% normally. I have to do this every time I want to work, and It's very annoying.

Please any advice will be appreciated...

Thanks for your suggestion, but I can't see any options in the Flash preferences about GPU acceleration.

Any way to delete preferences in flash?

    Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
Intel Centrino Duo T2050 1.6 Ghz
    2 Gb RAM
    Nvidia GeForce 7600

    It worked fine with CS3...

    Adobe itself suggests the following

    1. Change the hardware acceleration settings

    1. Choose Start > Control Panel > Display.
    2. On the Settings Tab, click Advanced.
    3. On the Troubleshoot tab, click Hardware Acceleration.
    4. Change the Hardware Acceleration slider 1 notch to disable Cursor and Bitmap Accelerations.

    2. Update to the newer Catalyst Driver v8.501.0.0.

Updating to the latest ATI driver allows OWL dragging operations to perform correctly even with Hardware Acceleration set to Full. Contact the hardware manufacturer to download the driver.

Thanks for your response. I'll check it out when I get home. The only thing is that I don't have an ATI card, my laptop has an Nvidia GeForce 7600 (256 Mb).
