Hello, I was removing some crap from my new laptop when I realized something odd. Under every program, it says "last used on 11.25.2006" and "used rarely". Well, 11.25 was the day I bought the machine, and configured everything. As for "used rarely", this message was displayed under programs that I use almost everyday. Something doesn't seem right about this... You'd think it would say "last used on 12.16.2006" and "used: frequently" under a program like WORD (which I just used today, and use almost everyday). Is this normal for Windows Add/Remove programs, or do I need to fix something. I'm sorry, I don't know much about computers therefore I felt I should ask. Thanks!

No, it is totally normal. Add/Remove programs gets alot of things like these dates and "used on" things wrong. If you know what program it is, and you wish to unistall it, then go ahead and uninstall it.

Oh no, its not a problem. It's just how Windows is - so *well* made.

I have no clue what method Windows uses to know what programs are commonly used, but suffice it to say that it is FAR from accurate.

Ok... that's what I thought, but I figured I would make sure. Thank you for your responses.

Has anyone run windows Disk Cleanup in the first week you own your notebook? It wants to compress over a gig of "old" files usually. I'd love to know what it considers old on a brand new computer. I'm sure that would slow things down having to decompress files you use regularly because windows thought they were old and rarely used.
