Hello. Noob here. Merry Christmas everybody. I couldn't find this referenced in my searches.

I have an Acer Travelmate 2480 and installed a monitoring program called Actmon on it. I am getting an error message at bootup re Microsoft NET.Framework and an exception error. In the details it says I can put a command in the machine.config file that would enable JIT Debugging (which would handle the error instead of me seeing the EM at each boot). I found the file but don't know how to open it to edit it.

Has anyone ever run into this problem w/ other apps? I have installed and unistalled 4 or 5 times, and still get this problem. I have used this software on several other computers with no issues at all. I have a feeling it has to do w/ the proprietary software Acer installs and loads at bootup.
I was thinking I could toggle on and off the apps that are loading and maybe find the culprit. So,can anyone tell me if there is way to toggle on and off the programs that load at bootup. I am using XP home. I remember I could do that in Win98. I can't find that option in XP.

    Thanks for reading.
