Not only have I completely stopped using it since it failed me ever since the introduction of GPT disks, as in, I can backup just fine, but when it is the time to restore the image, it never worked, as in I would not be able to boot into Windows after the restoration.

Since then, I switched to Macrium Reflect and never looked back......

    and now this....... appalling.....

I can't stand ATI. It's always been really unstable. I have some backups from 2007 that I did with ATI and I regret it. The Explorer is nice when it works but it's just tedious. I wouldn't use it for anything except when you want to pull specific files or folders from a backup which is easy when it works, never for a full system backup and restore solution. I use Reflect as well.

Macrium Reflect FTW. That's all I use. There's not anything that I have found that works better than Reflect, and the free version is more than adequate for the needs of most users.

True, in the past, only the Home (paid) version allowed you to perform a restoration withouot the need of external media (ie. USB Flash Drive or boot CD), but since a few months, now even the free version can do that so there is 0 need to get the paid version. I have 5 licenses which I let them collect the dust because everytime I format, I need to email Macrium to unblock my keys. I hate software which limit me to how I use my licenses so I switched to the free version and never been happier. It never let me down.

@Ethrem , even Macrium Reflect allows you to browse a backup file via explorer and retrieve whatever file you may need from the backup image without actually loading it.

In the UK an new regulation is if you buy a game that does not work or crashes requiring a update to get working, under UK trading standard you are entitled to a full refund, as the game should work when you get it and not require an update.

I wonder if this applies to other software like applications.

I don't know how that rule affects Acronis though because they will give you support for the first month then you have to pay after that. Seems noone is buying their crapware that they are so desperate to get money using shady methods like this.
