I created a slideshow of pictures that I would like to put on DVD. It was 655 pictures on an AVI file.

Is there some form of free software that converts AVI to some DVD format?

    Thanks in advance.

Try TMPGEnc Plus encoding software. You need to convert to mpeg2 for DVDs. There are a bunch of others out there as well, but I've heard good things about this one.
