    Hi, dear masters.

Recently, I bought a new laptop. After using it for sometime, I found the pre-installed Vista is very annoying and inconvenient, as a result, I deleted the OS and installed Win Xp instead. When in the process of installing the drivers, I found out that I can't restart or shut down?

my own take on this strange behavior was like following:

    1. driver-related problems and repercussions

    2. ACPI

    3. model-specific problems (Acer Aspire4720)

    How did you delete Vista?

When you got to the point that it wouldn't restart had the XP setup already rebooted your machine? or was it at the point where it reboots for the first time?

sorry for the questions instead of answers but there's lots of possibilities!
