I am looking at a laptop which has 64 bit vista on it.

Just wondering what is the main difference between 32bit and 64bit.
Will i face software incompatibility issues?

The most notable difference is being able to use 4 GBs of RAM and upwards, and 64-bit versions of software.

And the only issues you could face are from very obscure (mostly 16-bit) software.

    Please use Search.

There are a select few games that seem to have trouble, at least from my experience. For example, Brothers in Arms - Hell's Highway would not install because the setup.exe file is a 16-bit executable. Still, 64-bit is worth it.

If you have peripherals which require drivers, such as printers, you may want to check if they have 64 bit drivers available.
