    1) Do I need to a 64-bit OS, if I am going to have 4 GB of RAM ?
    2) Is there much performance increase from a 32-bit, to 64-bit OS at all ?

    Regards,
    OGLES

    1) If you expect to be able to use the full 4 gb, then yes, you need a 64-bit OS. (Otherwise you'll get around 3-3.5 gb usable with a 32-bit OS.)

I'm not sure what all the advantages are, but yes the 64 bit will recognize the full 4 gigs of RAM.
