Hello.
I'm about to buy a new computer. I'm thinking of getting the 64-bit version of Vista Ultimate. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons? I've heard it's harder to find programs for a 64-bit system, but that might be in the past?
A couple of days ago a guy at work showed me how to use Cisco's VPN-client. I fell in love. I'm not sure if VPN-programs are common, but I'ld like to know what you think: I want to be able to control my desktop using my notebook when I'm not at home (and when I'm at home too, so lazy...). The desktop is on 24/7, and is connected to the same router as the notebook, and when at home I don't see why there should be any problem. But is it the same thing, also when the computers aren't connected to each other directly in the same network?
And as I read a few posts below: isn't there any 64-bit compatible VPN-program out there? Not at all?
Well. I welcome your answers, forgive me for a somewhat unstructural post.

Depending on what you are going to do, if you just want to upgrade to Vista in general, I'd go for Home Premium and save money! You'll find some printers and a few rare programs won't work on 64bit, and driver support can be more awkward to find at times but it's apparently a fair bit better than the 32bit edition!
Not sure about your VPN questions, I'm sure someone else can answer that! -

This thread asks similar questions and might have a solution.
Like what crash said, Cisco VPN is not compatible with 64-bit. I had to downgrade my 64-bit install of Vista home premium as I need Cisco VPN.
