    Nvidia offers official drivers on their website that support both mobility and desktop, 32 and 64bit, and most OSs.

    As for performance, I'm not sure which is better.

    I just installed the 190.40 beta driver (supports Sony GPU's without a modded inf). But still I cannot change the "flat panel scaling in the control panel" and low res videos are pixelated in VLC.

    Just because it's a new series doesn't automatically mean it's better. 186.03 should be more than enough until the 190 series gets a proper mobile release.

    How do you find out what driver is installed? I have a GTS250 and Windows Update installed a driver yesterday that was recently released.

    Going into Device Manager, in Driver Properties of the display adaptor it says driver version is 8.15.11.8635. But all reference NVidia drivers are numbered in the 180s, 190s etc....

    Right click , go to Nvidia control panel , Click "system information" to know the driver version. The driver version is the last four numbers of "8.15.11.8635" with a one added in front, which is "186.35".
    And 6.xx.xx.xxxx = XP driver
    7.15.11.xxxx = Vista driver
    8.15.11.xxxx =Win 7 / Vista driver
