Vista shows empty stars in front of my files and folders, which it calls 'rating'

The funny thing is, I am unable to change the stars, all of them remain decolored no matter what I do?

I know this is a silly question and may be some kinda virus or I dont know what

But, I am hoping somebody else faced this issue, and maybe figured out the solution

    Please enlighten me

    Thx in advance

Have you tried clicking the rating in the details pane?

Yes, I had tried that but the tags and stars were available only for some files like pictures and mp3. They were not working for other media files and folders

Like? And I doubt you can assign rating to folder.

By the media files I meant the .avi and other movie files.

Ok, I thought since the details column showed empty stars in front of the folders it could be rated

    Thx for the help

I have tried and it's the same for me, I can only assign rating to picture file and mp3. Not a big problem anyway ;) You can always view your media files by list :D
