Your phone is thin, lightweight, and sexy! Why hide it's beauty with a bulky case? You bought it for how it looks too, besides it's function didn't you? At least I did. Anyways, I made mine more unique without putting a case on them and boy do I get the comments when I'm out and about. Of course if you tend to drop your phone, don't do this. I have yet to drop my last 4 phones.

I always put a case on my phones because I like the added bulk. Today's phones are way too thin compared to what I was used to using WITHOUT a case back in the Sidekick 2 days and then in my Windows Mobile days with the slide out keyboards and resistive touch screens. I add a case just to add grip to my phone! The drop protection is an added bonus lol!

Well most people are like you. I know I'm in the minority. However, I get a kick of how many people pick a phone because it looks great and then cover it up... I known some friends who waited months for the new gold version iPhone or S6 only to cover it all up as soon as they get it... I think it is funny. And the note 4 that I have is plenty big for a grip for me. Of course I didn't put a cover on my blackjack II & S3 either and today, they are still like new and no scratches or scuffs what ever.

I just buy a clear gel or hard clear plastic case and screen protector it does not hide anything and protects my baby.

I use cases since phones are just too fragile without them (ignoring Nokia). Why bother saving a dozen dollars on a case when your several hundred dollar phone can self-destruct when you're trying to tie your shoes and it drops from your ear (as what happened to me recently)?

Duh!!! God gave you hands for a reason! ;)
That makes me think of the blonde lady I saw a few weeks ago on the I-5 Interstate going 70 mph, while doing her eyelashes AND her phone on her shoulder and no hands on the steering wheel. I got away from her as fast as I could.

Kind of hard to tie your shoes with one hand, don't you think? ;)

I'm not too upset about it really. It was a garbage phone and I'm a bit glad it's out of my life, even though I wasted a few hundred on it :/... It's now my bedtime Youtube viewer.

Yes, and why you put the phone down for all of ten seconds to tie your shoe or finish your call, then tie your shoe. ;)

Yeah, in hindsight that would have been a better option :p

I just don't like fragile things. One of the reasons why I stopped buying consumer-class laptops, for example.

Accidents happen. I would much rather be protected than have to pay for either a new phone or the deductible on my insurance (which is probably 200 bucks since I have a Note 5).

I recently bought a case for my phone from a Poetic Cases... The Poetic Affinity model for Moto X Pure. I've never used that brand before, but I am impressed.

Hard plastic / rubber material. Clear case to show the color / style of phone that I bought.

And most importantly, it keeps the shape and curves of the phone so the phone feels very similar in your hand to a naked device.

This is the first time I used a case where I don't mind it at all... And ironically, its on the cheapest smartphone I've ever owned.

I use a leather case that has slots for cards on one side and a holder for the phone on the other. Means one less thing to carry (wallet) and also protects the phone. Seems a shame to make such a slim device chunkier but I'd have to carry a wallet seperately if I didn't so I suppose it evens out.

Never understood why people put things in their back pockets. Not only do you have the issues of breaking phones, but also pick-pocketing is an issue.

Personally, front pockets are the way to go.

I've never used back pockets in my life. It doesn't feel natural nor secure. I mean my front pockets are always deep so that my stuff doesn't fall out, why would I use my back pocket at all?

If phones has somewhere to fasten a strap, you could hang it around your neck, or fasten it to your coat, no chance of it getting damaged from being dropped then, you can still put it in an inside pocket and if you fumble with it when it rings no problems.

My old Nokia 1020 has an place to fasten a strap i just found out.

Must be better than sterilizing yourself by having it beside your gonads in your pants front pocket.

^There's a big difference between ionizing radiation and non-ionizing radiation. One type powers your phone and radio, the other allows you to see your bones.

    ---------------

Not sure if fixing a phone to the neck/coat would be such a practical idea. If anything, a bit goofy. Then again, so are Bluetooth earpieces... :/.

The idea of putting a strap on my phone just seems like an open invitation for someone to steal it from me. Call me paranoid but Denver isn't exactly a low crime area. Someone flashing around a Note 5 or other high end device like that is just asking for it.

It amazes me how many women, (very few men) put their phones in their back pockets... what are purses for??? ...must be a fad thing, but NOT smart at all as they WILL eventually sit on the phone, not to mention the pick-pockets out there. They bump into you while snatching your phone. Happens all the time. Guess it takes all kinds.

Actually most of the jeans are skin tight and it really looks stupid with the phone jutting out. Like I said, a fad. I recall when I was up in Edmonton, Alberta visiting my best friend in December who lives across from the Worlds Largest Mall and was amazed at all the gals who would walk from their cars to the Mall with no coat or jacket, (20 below zero mind you) skin tight jeans, tight blouse with navel showing, many with rings in the navels and cell phones sticking out of their rear pockets. Wow... anything to look in fashion.
    Glad I'm a guy. LOL

I know myself and unforseen events will happen. Phone gets a case. Phones are so thin today, that even semi-rugged cases don't add much bulk.

Never did see the point of cell phone makers who make the fancy phones that look nice, and people get all excited about the gold trim or whatever, then it promptly gets covered up and you can't even tell what brand it is... I know most folks go with a case and don't care... but not me. I haven't gotten a case for my last four phones and there are NO scratches on any of them. I take care of my phone. Of course I painted the back cover of my Note 4 with carbon fiber on front, no case on it. The other 3, (S5 not shown as I traded it for a Note 4) I left stock. They needed no help.

one of the reason I prefer winter. So I can put my Lumia 1520 with case in my jacket. I can put it in my front pocket but it still gets uncomfortable sometimes.

I regret a bit for not choosing some popular brands like Apple or Samsung which has variety of case styles for their phones.

when I have a chance, I'll have my phone, uhm, "wrapped in a thin layer of clear plastic." It's like the plastic wrap for food but I don't see people do thing like that to their phones in the US.

Personally I hate how thin and slippery phones are getting. I'm glad Samsung decided to go with a bit of a thicker phone (compared to S6) with the S7 and bigger battery. I'm hoping this feature if thinner phones ends up going away (although I doubt it with Apple rumours saying they are trying to get rid of 3.5mm port).

I wear a case because in the very rare chance I do drop it it reduces the risk of physical damage on the phone quite a bit and I like to switch phones every 6-8 months or so and scratches and dings will make the phone value go down.

As you can tell from my pics above, I don't like cases... never needed them as I don't drop mine... ever (notice that is 6 years between the phones in pics and nary a scratch/smudge on them) I don't do stupid things like put them in my back pocket, hold them when using the sink/toilet, nor use phone when on pavement or sidewalks... Anyways, I just got my new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with the Gear VR today and boy am I having fun. I will order a few sets of skins for this phone as they are fingerprint magnets! :)

Since I got my first smartphone, couldn't use anything without sliding qwerty keyboard, at least for prolonged periods time. They are thick and sturdy enough to avoid cases, and if something happens to the smartphone - I order parts and repair it. If I had a very thin smartphone - I'd definitely put it in a case - the one with qwerty keyboard of course (= , but these are sadly all inferior quality to the real thing.

I agree with you about covering up the phone. A lot of phones are nicely designed, why cover it up with a bulky case. But I don't know about the coloring part. I have the htc m9, and I like the silver steel look. eh, in short, I'm a bumper guy. protects against everything (unless you drop it onto something that's not flat, like a rock...
