I am having major connection issues with my iphone 8. I am getting bored with my iphone as well. I have been using my samsung Tab A 8 for the past month while on the couch relaxing and I am enjoying it alot. I don't touch my ipad anymore either. I am wanting a samsung phone since they connect better than other android phones to windows 10. I am looking at getting the A71 for me and the A51 for DW. I have watched many videos and the speed difference compared to the high end models is not enough to shell out for 2 S20s. Also, the same goes for the cameras. And in blind taste tests I prefer the images from the A series at points.

If google had the same full connectivity to windows that samsung has, I would get pixel 4a in a heartbeat. But even then, I lose out on dual sim, sd expansion (a big one for us), and better battery life.

    thoughts?

Check the modem version/firmware iOS 13.7 had bad firmware and has LTE coverage issue and you may need to update to ios 14.1 or 14.2.

My reception seems better on 14.1. Now, the notifications are still weird to me.

Yeah, the apple train is still leaving the station soon for me. Thought I could jump on again, but no.

Close to the 51\71 price range, Note 10 lite.
Superb value, usefullness, photos (ois, 2x, wide). Got one, no 'lite' feeling at all :O)
Minuses, 1 of the 2 sims gone if using memory card, for my use the internal 128gb (approx 100 available) is fine, & 4G, but as any useful 5G won't come for ages in my regions, zero problems.

Just to say a little more about the pen, amazing tool, works so well after years of note range refinements. Not only for writing & drawing etc, but screen\menu navigation, remote for the camera shutter (great+++) and more. imo this 'lite' is Samsung's hidden (& great value) jewel.

And last but not least, unlike other higher end sam's, flat screen.

    edits, added some detailed info.

I need dual sim now. I have been researching the A71 for over a month now and the images from it's camera are just as good, if not better than my 8. I feel the price point, features, and overall value I will get from the A71 (or A7X if it's released before I am ready to purchase) is probably the best out there. I would have gotten the pixel, but it misses on too many things for me.

Reset app permissions. It fixed the issues which mom had when using ios 13.x after upgrading.

My reception is still crap. I am pretty well done with apple. I put my samsung tablet in my jeep and I don't lose signal all the way to a town 30 mins away, on my and my wife's iphone, we lose signal about 10-12 times during a round trip drive. for min at a time. Nah. I am done.

If you have warranty, check with Apple and get device replaced since I believe your baseband/modem might be faulty.

Then newer iPhones are really expensive unless you can trade-in iphone 8 for Se 2020.

Yes. I am waiting to see if the new iPhone brings back touch Id. I may buy the new iPhone. But I highly doubt it.

Yeah, I have been reading and passing time until I see the new Apple and Nokia offerings. Plus the prices of the a71 will drop too. The images from it already look better than my iPhone so it's already ahead in that category.

Wel , after using my dad's iPhone 6s plus, I will not be getting a big phone. I hate it. Narrowed down to the se or 12 mini if it has touch Id. The good thing about the se, all my cases will fit. So that's a bonus.

I knew you would say this. That's why I suggested SE 2020 128GB/256GB from the start.
I don't think iphone 12 mini will be one-handed device like SE2020. Lack of power adapter and earphones will end up costing more when you get a Belkin or Apple branded AC adapter or charger.

iPhone 12 mini won't have Touch ID. Only SE gen 2 has the Touch ID.

I'm deciding between SE gen 2 and 12 mini myself. The rumours I heard about 12 mini are tempting so far, but on the other hand, do I really need it? Could just wait for SE to drop to 450 Euros for 128GB and get that. I've been using iPhone 6 for the last couple of weeks and honestly I don't really miss a lot of things coming from LG V30, except the battery on screen time (standby time is miles better though).

I'm not so sure on the touch Id thing now. Masks for the next year or two. Farce Id don't work with masks. I think it's the reason the new phones were delayed. If they don't I'm jumping on a new se 256gb.

The 12 mini is more one handed than the se. I have wireless headphones and charging now, the costs do not bother me it's the convenience of touch Id vs face Id.

If the 12 mini comes with touch Id, I'm in on the 256gb version.

Just took a look at iPhone 12 livestream. Aside from highlighting their Pro iPhone lineups and bumped up storage for Dolby Vision video recording, 5G to download MRI scans at higher slices/quality (who does this on a Phone when they have 10Gbps or more Fiber).
I think iPhone mini 256GB is perfect size. It gives a iPhone 5S design language with OLED HDR screen.
If you have tight budget and upgrade every 2 yrs then iPhone SE 2020 256GB is better as it is closer in design to iPhone 8 and you'll rarely notice a difference in daily usage.

I keep drifting back to the A71. The feature set is far ahead of the iphone with costs more as well.

I have been using it for the past three phones. 6 6s and 8. So I am sort of grown tired of the design.

My wife and I have been using our iphone 11's for a little over two weeks now and I have to say both of us are totally dissapointed in the phone and iOS 14. We constantly miss notifications, face id is not as good as touchID as I knew it would be and the overall operation of the phones are terrible. the swypey iOS version is hokey, her phone starts installing apps by itself on more than one occasion. I am now going to buy the A71 and 51 for me and her respectively and goto android now. sell our iphones, pay off the tab and be done with apple for good. Their entire platform has gone downhill drastically since Jobs died. Cook is not a visionary nor is any of their design team. It's the same crap regurgitated every year minus the smooth operation of the system. You know they screwed up everything when my wife wants out!
