    Samsung Galaxy Note9: Official Introduction
    Samsung
    Published on Aug 9, 2018
With Note, our focus has always been to deliver a cutting-edge smartphone experience like no other, and that’s why today, the Samsung Galaxy Note9 is the most powerful Note ever.
    [Powerful all day battery]
Galaxy Note9 introduces a whole new level of powerful performance. Its all day, 4000mAh battery is not only bigger, but also more power efficient, which means you can get through your entire day on just a single charge.

[1 terabyte ready with expandable memory]
New standards for memory let you store so much more, while deleting less. Choose between 128GB or 512GB storage models, while expandable memory allows up to 512GB of additional storage, making Note9 1 terabyte ready.

    [Cutting-edge processor]
A next-generation processor delivers remarkably fast data transfer and performance, while an advanced, built-in water carbon cooling system protects Note9’s processor against overheating, so you can sustain peak performance for longer.

    [S Pen with remote control]
Now with Bluetooth, the all new powerful S Pen gives you ultimate control. Remotely control presentation slides, capture photos and so much more, all without even touching your phone.

    [Intelligent camera]
Note9 takes photography to a whole new level. Its revolutionary intelligent camera has dual aperture that adjusts between f/1.5-f/2.4 to adapt to any lighting situation. What's more, it automatically recognizes scenes to optimize color, and flaw detection can detect closed eyes and motion blur, so you’ll never get a bad shot.

    [DeX]
An all new DeX mode now transforms Note9 into a dynamic PC experience with just a single cable, so you can work on a big screen and bring your apps to life.

Meet the new super powerful Note.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 : Mightier S Pen
    GadgetMatch
    Published on Aug 9, 2018
This is our Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Hands-On!
If there’s one thing that sets Samsung’s Galaxy Note line apart from any other phone, it’s the bundled stylus called the S Pen.

While the Note line is known for many other things, in many ways, it’s the S Pen that defines it. So this year, Samsung is rethinking the S-Pen: it’s not just a stylus anymore. It works as a Bluetooth remote for your presentations and a shutter for your travel OOTDs.

Aside from a reimagined S Pen though, there are other new things about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9: a larger battery, top of the line internals, and some heft in the pocket — both literally and figuratively. But are these improvements compelling enough for Note users to upgrade? And for non-Note users out there, is now the time to switch?

My Samsung Note 9 review is coming but here's an unboxing and first impressions on the device. The Note 9 has an updated pen and is one of the best performing and best looking 2018 smartphones.
With a Snapdragon 845, a massive 6.4" screen, 4000 mAH battery, and a new bluetooth enabled S-Pen, the Note 9 is one of the most powerful phones in 2018 but these are very small improvement over the previous year. Note users get early access to Fortnite for Android.

My friend just got one. The hardware is awesome as expected. And it's nice that, unlike the Pixel 3XL, it gives you the choice between gestures and on-screen buttons instead of requiring the former. That, plus the lack of a notch and the presence of a headphone jack, makes it my favorite flagship on the market right now.

ditto, plus expandable storage and MOST importantly, it has no bugs like we are seeing the horrific stories/bugs with the Pixel 3 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro. the bugs on those things are ridiculous.

The disappearing texts and photos on the Pixel 3 would just be infuriating, but you have to admit, additional notches randomly showing up on the side of the screen is so bad it's hilarious.

Well here are the Google Pixel 3/XL issues:

    - Disappearing text messages
    - Apps not staying in memory and reloading when you switch back to them
    - Sometimes photos you take are not actually saved so all those precious moments you thought you captured weren't
    - some display issues like blue tint
    - overheating while charging/heavy use

Huawei Mate 20 Pro bugs / disadvantages:

    - uses proprietary memory cards so you can't sell them or make use of them on another phone if you ever decide to sell your phone
    - notch (I hate notches with all my heart)
    - no headphone jack (I don't like dongles)
    on to the issues...
    - backlight bleeding on many screens, particularly the ones made by LG, the BOE screens don't have issues

    From the Android Central forum:

There are more bugs but I can't be bothered to find them now. My point is, these are some pretty serious bugs for expensive flagship phones. Seems like companies just rush out the next phone every few months to get our money and let us be the guinea pigs while they enjoy having our money and let us suffer with their incompetence/lack of quality control

    An update after 3 days:

    • Green tint is getting worse, driving after sunset and putting my phone on phone holder looks extremelly bad, especially if using spotify
    • Bluetooth cut off problems sometimes with 2018 ford
    • Camera autofocus seems extremely slow or non-existent, in general point of shoot pictures are being better with Note 9
    • Signal strength seems to be worse in my area, only noticeable with youtube

    @Mitlov

I got a 128GB Note 9 in midnight black yesterday. It's awesome man. Super snappy and the S Pen this time is actually useful *to me anyway* as I can use it to control media or snap photos or scroll up/down webpages.

More on my thoughts after I use it for a week.

Loved it more than any other phone. That physical keyboard is just awesome. The battery life is superb as well. A single charge lasts me 2 days.

The ONLY issue with it is the camera wasn't that great in low light. Like in normal day time picture they are fine but in low light it sucks so much it's so grainy. Other than that, it's one of the best phones that I've owned. I still find it very hard to part with it every time I make a mistake on the virtual keyboard I miss my BlackBerry again...

I can't wait till BlackBerry makes another physical keyboard with a good camera and that'll be the best thing ever made since sliced bread.

Next phone would be the S10 hopefully if we can get a smaller form factor but with dual cameras I'd be so happy as I don't really like big phones but the single camera doesn't do it anymore for the Bokeh effect (Portrait Mode). The smaller S9 has a software based bokeh effect called selective focus but it works like 1 times out of 10 and when it does work certain areas that shouldn't be blurred out get blurred out like the arms of a person in the shot. I let me wife take a pic of me at the store, every time she took it I would be in focus and the background would be blurred just fine but then my arms are blurred so I couldn't see my self dealing with that on a daily basis and getting it to work is a real challenge you have to come really close to the object and remain super still.

You definitely need a Super Wide angle and Telephoto lens from Moment. Buy the lens once and share it among your family.
I never thought S9 would miss Portrait mode even with heavy SW optimizations.
I hope S10 or SX satisfies your need, Tri/Quad camera like Mate 20 w/ Samsung branding w/o the notch job of course.

I think you are going to see the notch going away in android designs in the next round of devices. They all jumped on the apple bandwagon there, and found out that consumers think it is stupid. Apple is in a tail spin with phone sales, and android's time to pounce on them is now, ditch the notch and barrel over them!

As an addition to my previous posts, the "unofficial" numbers are that from this point last year to this point this year, apple sold 50 million to this year's 38 million. Thats a hell of a drop. Seems even the koolaid drinkers are getting fed up with the lack of innovation at apple.

Good luck. I don't trust Holiday season OS updates especially when they say the keyword Increase in temps when downloading updates and installing them.

Any phone gets hot when doing things. No big deal there.

We've been using OTA for 5-6 years and I understand a major update will warm up the phone but a small OTA update shouldn't be labelled as Getting hot since the older devices run just fine. From the looks of it, Samsung took that overheat limit from 55C to 60C

Yes and @Vasudev that is a standard warning message at least on every Galaxy phone I never even bothered thinking twice about it.

Come to think of it, Apple releases the same messages.

I didn't see that kind of words on older galaxy phones. They mentioned Devices May get warm during updating through OTA.
Can you tell what's UAE version of Note 9 is missing in terms of software? I know Skype, Viber is absent. I've installed BOTIM on my dad's phone but can I trust it?

Do you have a screenshot, never saw it even once.

I liked my Note9 but I think the Mate 20 Pro was probably a better phone. Battery was a hell of a lot better. Camera was a toss up.
