Retrieving data from damaged iPhones: Repair expert says Apple misleading customers
    CBC News: The National
    Published on Apr 1, 2019
A few months ago, The National took a documentary look at allegations that Apple was indulging in abusive business practices, including regularly overcharging customers for simple repairs. Tonight, CBC's Terence McKenna follows up that story with a look at new evidence that Apple is intentionally misleading customers about the possibility of retrieving data from damaged iPhones. His story begins with an elderly couple in Newfoundland and Labrador.

They used 3utools to recover the $$#%ing iphones, I'm so happy. Its a versatile tool and is more functional than iTunes.
Jessa Jones has a knack for fixing iDevices.
Apple's profits must slowly vanish for doing these scare tactics.

When your identity is security, can you ask people turning in dead phones that they can't erase to just *trust* you?

You should see the mental gymnastics on the go at imore from the ring leader and his minions about this topic. It's hilarious! I am an iphone USER. I am NOT an apple LEMMING. There is a huge difference. I enjoy my iphone and how my family can stay connected easily with each other. Rumor has it that apple are going to be releasing message and facetime to the android and windows platforms. If this happens, I will be moving to the p30 pro 256gb phone. That way I can run MS launcher on it and be extremely happy!

Well I highly doubt it, every Apple user wants iMessage and Facetime, if other platforms are supported it will be the end of the road for apple because they'll buy 200$ phone with great value and performance. I feel p30 Pro crushes iPhone XR/XS in camera department. The f stop is way bigger than L1020. I have never seen that much bigger f stop in my life on a phone. Incoming light sensitivity is massive almost 70-90% more light is captured. Damn...

They (apple) are seriously thinking about it. They may charge for the priveledge however. I am willing to pay for that. To have imessage and facetime on my dell computer and android phone would be awesome.

That would be great, instead of gross overpaying of iDevices a small yearly subscriptions of iServices won't hurt anyone.

Agreed, but I do love my apple watch and iPhone. I am not going to lie. I can swap my ipad for a surface go and be perfectly fine, more so now with chromium edge. Macbooks and imac. HELL NO. They (macOS) are a hot mess. Windows 10 pro with imessage and facetime would be my ideal computing setup!

I think they might implement PWA like setup for iMessage and FT inside a browser, a completely web UI and works just like Discord.
