The LG V20 is the latest super phone from LG Electronics, Inc. It is the successor to the LG V10. It is reported to contain some of the modular functionality the LG G5 has, however, that is a rumor at this point. I will post more information on the specs of the phone as they become confirmed. LG is one of the last smartphone companies that supports replaceable batteries.

The LG V20 will be revealed on Sept 6th, 2016.

LG + on-screen buttons means a double no sell for me. LG phones have so many issues. I remember when I used to play Brave Frontier there was a warning on the wiki not to play the game on a G2 when it was charging or it would overheat and reboot. The G4 has rebooting issues due to hardware problems. The G2x was the worst phone I've ever owned - reboots, freezes, GPS never worked, battery was horrible and LG completely abandoned it once they realized they couldn't fix it. The G5 had build quality issues. LG just can't make a decent phone and when they do, the software drags it down.

As I stated in another forum, I am/was a diehard Samsung Note user. I am glad Samsung added back SD card support but expandable storage was never my issue with the Note 5, the sealed battery is.

While I still get good battery life since I got the Note 5 (at launch), it doesn't compare to what I originally got during the first 6 months. I get about two to three hours of actual use spread out during the day. When I get home from work (11 hour shift), I'm at about 20% whereas during the first six months, I was never below 50%. My Note 2, 3 and 4 are still going strong. Each received an extended battery and last days in between charges, instead of hours.

The LG V10 intrigued me. It's second screen does provide value, its camera as great as the G4's and most importantly, a replaceable battery. Sure it had it problems with boot loops and LG does have a reputation for not supporting their phones for more than a year, but that can be solved through rooting and a new ROM.

If LG can provide stable hardware and like stock skin plus keep the replaceable battery, I might end up getting it. If the reviews are poor, I'll pick up the Note7.

I have had the LG V10 since launch and I have had no issues with it. I even got the free battery and charger with 200 GB sd card. I am looking forward to the V20. The V20 will be the first non nexus new phone that will get Android 7 out of the box.

The question is how long will LG support Android on the V20. Currently, Samsung does have the monthly security updates and my Note 5 will likely get the upgrade to Nougat (after that, I think I'm SOL). If the bootloader is locked, I will be at the mercy of LG and the carrier for updates...unless LG offers an unlocked V20.

I guess we will find out on September 6th. I am hoping the boot loader will be unlocked too.

My LG V20 came in the other day and I like the phone. The screen is bright in direct sunlight, the fingerprint scanner is fast and I have gotten amazing battery life, it run's cool, much cooler than my V10. The phone came with a factory installed screen protector. The case I bought is a UAG Ice colored case. The quad dac is amazing and the secondary screen is much better than the V10. The model I bought was the Tmobile model. On the 28th I can get the free B&O play headphones when I redeem the offer with LG.

I'm going to buy the LG V20 today. You get a free LG 4K UHDTV (like I need another HDTV) but for some reason it doesn't apply to CT where I live. I'm still going to go with the purchase and see if I can get the TV somehow.

I hope you get the tv and I think you will like the phone. The screen is visible in the sun and the second screen is much brighter. The case I have for the V20 is the UAG case ice frost and the screen protector is from Tech21. It is an impact shield anti glare and anti finger print. I like both the case and the screen protector. The phone comes with a screen protector preinstalled anyway so you don't really need one. A protector comes preinstalled for the camera lens. I think you should leave it on, it probably came on for a reason.

Sprint ended up giving me the phone for free* after a mixup on their website. I tried buying the phone as a upgrade on the site but none of my credit cards would go through. As part of the black friday promotion, I was supposed to get additional 200 off for my loyalty (I've been with Sprint since 2005) but when I called to place the order, one rep told me it was an online deal only (it was clearly marked as online AND telesales). After a bit of back and forth, they transferred me to a supervisor that told me to pay the sales tax and the phone is mine. I paid only $50.27 for the phone and I'm still contract free. I should receive the phone by Tuesday.

You can't go wrong with spending 50 dollars on a phone.

I've chosen G5 over V10 at the beginning of October and haven't regretted so far. The phone is a blast (not the level of a Galaxy Note 7), it crunches multiple apps at once and haven't throttled with any game I've managed to put in front of it so far. That being said, I am yet to meet the limits of the phone and find myself some peace.

Built quality the only cons so far, especially in the area where the detachable part meets the rest of the phone. I expected more from a flagship, knowing the build quality of previous models. I swear I can see the curve of the plastic where it shouldn't be. Looks to me as if I can push the back of the phone with bare thumbs.

I received my LG V20 yesterday and I have yet to activate it. I have used it though and it is a huge departure from my Note 5. I LOVE the size and the screen is actually really good (I still prefer AMOLED screens though). I am now going to root my Note 5 and use it as another developmental device for apps.

The only real con is this phone has a locked bootloader and thus ROM development will likely not happen. Too bad, this phone could be a real winner with a new, slim ROM.

If you like the Note 5 or if you have used the Note 7, you will really like the LG V20. I have had every Galaxy Note phone and while I am going to miss the S-Pen, the V20 is growing on me. The best feature of this phone is the audio jack output. It's amazing.

The phone came installed from the factory with Android 7.0. There is a secondary 2.1 inch screen that is really useful in my opinion. The best feature is besides the quad dac is the removable battery.

I had the Note 4 before upgrading to the LG V20. Side by side, the V20 is about the same width, but slightly longer. Bezels are thinner, so the screen seems much roomier.

I had several iterations of the Note phones, and have been a huge fan. As much as I miss the stylus, I honestly use the second screen on the V20 more than I've ever used the stylus. Plus, the GPS on the V20 has been more reliable than the Note 4 I last had.

I really really like this phone. The main camera, in manual mode, destroys everything on the market...yes including the Pixel's. The audio...man the audio with even a decent pair of headphones is amazing. Pair it with a great set of cans and you can't help but smile. If you are on the fence and you are a Note user like me, this is the phone to get until Samsung gives us another Note that's not so explosive.

I got my free LG 4K TV on Wed and today I finally had time to set it up. There is some strange banding coming from the top part of the panel (pinching) and I'm really not sure whether to complain or not. The TV WAS free and the phone WAS free, so I don't feel like going through the trouble of shipping it back.

In the meantime, I'm going to hookup my Xbox One S and test out the HDR on this TV. I know not to expect much from the HDR on this TV, lol.

BTW, this phone is great. I might be a LG convert at this point, at least in regards to the V series.

I have had the V20 for about a week now. I purchased it through TMobile and it is replacing a Nexus 6 that suddenly refused to charge any longer. I am very pleased with the phone, the fingerprint reader works great for unlocking.

I equipped the phone with a 256 gig card so I can now store all of my music and books and several movies. The audio is amazing from the built in speakers and battery life is excellent. I just finished a six hour phone call with my daughter and still had 55% charge.

The extra little display at the top is interesting but did not make or would it of broken the deal for me.

The LG V20 backup tool is fantastic. You can directly backup all your apps and settings to the SD Card. I was having some issues with battery life, backup using the LG program and did a factory reset, my battery life was restored to good and I could directly restore my apps with all the usernames and settings in place. This is a huge time saver compared to downloading and setting up each app manually. I wish the V20 would get more press. Great phone.
