Hi, my phone finally died and I need a new one. I was planning on spending around 300 euros and so far I am between the new Samsung A5 (2017), the Huawei P9 from last year and the Huawei P10 lite from this year.
Each one seems to have its strong points (A5 has a better screen, P9 better processor, P10 lite more RAM) but I'm not surehow big is the difference in practice so Í would like some advice from someone with more knowledge.
    Thanks a lot

Of the 3 options you've listed, I'd go for the Huawei P9 every time - better camera, SoC, build quality and possibly battery life (can't say for certain but Huawei's SoCs tend to be pretty power efficient).

That said, it may be worth considering other options - I just purchased a Samsung A7 (2017) for my father, which was under £300 (~€325 according xe.com).
It has a larger screen, if you like that and absolutely mental battery life in GSMArena's tests.

Would you recomend the A7 over the P9? Can you tell me where did you find it at that price? I've looking and they are around £350 which is a little bit too much, but if it's worth I may go for it.

    eBay.

Checked on a lot of the sites that import from China, it was more expensive. Amazon too.
But a seller on eBay is selling them brand new for £285-290 (colour dependant).

Now, the reason I got the A7 for my dad is that it ticked all his boxes - Samsung, decent storage, large screen, good battery life.
    It's not a flagship handset but it's a strong upper-mid-ranger.
