I don't know how many times HTC is going to rename their 2016 flagship. It went from M10 to O2 to X10 and now to Perfume but it sounds nice from what I've been reading about it.

Rumors point to 6", Marshmallow 6.1, Sense 8.0, 1440p (it's about time HTC), 4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820, 64/128GB of storage (I'll believe that when I see it), and Boomsound. There's also rumor of a 3500mAh battery! o_O

If it pans out and has a nice camera (like a Sony IMX240 for example), I might just be dropping my Note 5 for it. I vastly prefer HTC to Samsung in every way, especially if they continue to use AMOLED screens like they did on the A9 and someone achieves S-OFF quickly. Sense blows away TouchWiz by miles. Honestly the only reason I didn't get the M9 was the plague that was the SD 810.

Sounds tempting, despite the stupid name. I really really like front-facing stereo speakers instead of down-facing or rear-facing single speakers. And that's a nice amount of onboard storage. On the other hand, HTC is guilty until proven innocent with me in terms of camera performance.

Perfume is obviously a codename LOL

Honestly, the M7 and M8 took some nice shots but its nothing compared to my IMX240 in my Note 5 for sure.

Nothing is obvious when they've sold several generations of "HTC Butterfly"

I suppose having an 18" smartphone would help... Seriously, there's a limit when smartphones get too big, become tablets and need styluses and two hands. I don't want to have to engage in finger and dextrous gymnastics to just hold and type on my phone. 5" is literally just right.

Might be just right for you but I have big hands. Its not comfortable but I can actually use my Note 5 one-handed, reaching all the way to the top left corner, and that's with my case on. My case isn't small either.

Once you have used a larger screen device, its hard to go back. I had a Nexus 6 and it took me weeks to get used to the 5.7" screen on my Note 5. It would take months to get used to a 5.1" screen and I would probably just trade it in for an LG G5 as soon as it launched - and I HATE LG. It would be different if HTC kept Boomsound, since that's something I miss on my Note 5.

To each his own, I suppose, but I've tried using the Note 5 one-handed and it nearly fell out. The large screen is useful for watching videos and making notes or doodling, but too small for anything productive. Plus, one needs large pockets to put the phone in.

Nevertheless, calling 5" tiny is a bit of an exaggeration, I think, where we still have the iPhone 4S and below, and the entire phone is still smaller than my One M8's screen.

I've always had large devices. I had the huge Sidekick 2 and then went to a bunch of Windows Mobile devices... Compared to those slide out devices, my Note 5 is downright small. Taller, yes.

A little extra bezel on the top and bottom for front-facing speakers doesn't make it any harder to use a phone one-handed. That's more of a screen size issue.

That's what I was saying. I don't mind my phone being taller, but not wider. And a phone's width today is determined by its screen.
