I have made the decision to ditch everything i own that is apple. My son's ipad storage is full. it's a 32gb version with over 15gb of "other" storage I cannot delete, and over 6gb of "icloud drive" space used up without icloud drive on. Apple has pissed me off once and for all. I now have to format his ipad back to factory in order for him to use it, and he loses his videos and everything he's created. Enough is enough. This locked down crap is getting old. Not being able to delete things to free up storage. having "icloud drive" which I thought was cloud storage, but I have that turned off so I use onedrive. But it's still taking up over 6gb of space of which I cannot find where to delete whats there. So right now, his ipad has 21gb of 32gb of storage taken up with apples unwillingness to let users delete their own stuff. DONE! I am selling the apple crap I have (yes it's crap) and I am moving to android for my phone and getting a surface go for my tablet.
Someone is going to get a great deal on some like new apple gear. Watch, phone ipad and one macbook out the door fire sale. AGAIN.

I am buying the new motorola g stylus. It has everything I need, nothing I don't and an open OS where I can do the things I want to do instead of apple telling me what they want me to do with their crappy OS.

I learned this the hard way when I recently switched to a MacBook Pro 16 and an iPhone 11 Pro. The seamless integration is awesome but that's about it. It is too controlled, very hard to organize my photos into albums unlike with Android just copy/paste whatever you have on your PC to your phone and the same folder hierarchy is preserves, lack of simple apps that we have abundance of on Windows like a download manager which supports video downloading, there is a LOT to list but good job with your move man.

Yep @Spartan. My son has autism so you cannot just explain that daddy has to crash your ipad to make it work again. Now, he likes his ipad, which I get, so I am giving him my 128gb 6th gen with pencil, he will have some more storage on that one. I will sell his to offset the cost of my new surface go. But I am totally done with crapple.

What are you asking for the Macbook? I unfortunately need an Apple machine for OSx86 development.

It's a 2007. It's a paperweight at this point. I was setting it up to use my paid copy of aperture. However apple won't let me download it. Even though I paid 399 for it.

Well, I formatted the ipad. Back to new. I have tried to disable all icloud garbage in favor of microsoft onedrive, onenote and outlook. See how long it takes for it clog up again.

Switch to google Cloud or Photos for better backup. I have seen similar kinds of issue on my mom's iphone and my guide came in handy and I had done extreme cleanup to get rid off Other Storage and brought the performance w/o clean installing. BTW, iOS 13.3 was crap now 13.4 feels okay to me.
For other storage to trim down, change date/time to 20 years ahead and shut down iDevice. Open Storage page and you should see 0 bytes. You can a step further and install 3utools and run Delete Invalid icon and sync with itunes to remove telemetry and other logs for thorough cleanup. Make sure screen is ON during entire process since post iOS13 you can run low level tasks connected to USB w/o screen off(except iOS Flash using iTunes Flash Mode).

No. We use Microsoft services with great success. I don't know what happened with his ipad. I have all apple services garbage turned off now. See how it goes.

Vasudev. So, if I just roll the date 20 years ahead and restart the other storage will be deleted?

I don't have that much of an experience with Apple products, my wife had a work iPhone 6S I believe, and I had to work on an iPad for a while. There is NOTHING that those devices can do that others don't, and in every single case they are cheaper. While using those devices pretty much reassured me in my beliefs, Louis Rossman videos on YouTube pretty much sealed the deal on Apple practises. Never touching that again.
And what pisses me off is that society buys into that crap. The whole 'breakthroughs' thing, done by Apple, did you know that two years back they invented dual SIM phones? Or that the iPhone 5 was the first bold step into enabling Copy/Paste? Man, what would we do without those bold minds from Genius Bar.
Recently though even the Apple sheep were puzzled with the cheese grater iMac and it's 1000$ monitor stand. However I may not like Steve Jobs practices, at least he was a bit restrained with his cashgrabs.

Have you seen what they did with the newest one? Radiator not connected to anything. On one side of the machine there is a fan, on the other - radiators. Planned obsolescence in it's perfect form.

Agreed, there were even moans from the sheeple at the release event when they announced the price of the stand for the monitor. Ha ha. Apple has lost its way.

Yes just like Lumia with win 8.1 which accumulated lots of Other Storage for no particular reason.

I'm not sure there is a price for Apple products which I could ever refer to as being a great deal. As far as I'm concerned one cannot get a great deal unless purchasing a great product.
